Do you know how dependent on technology we are?  You really don't realize it until something happens like your computer dies.  Yes, my computer completely gave up the ghost last week and I was lost.  All of my weddings and other shoots are stored elsewhere (and backed up), thank goodness, but everything on my desktop was gone, including my emails and calendar (so hard to get through a day without those).  Best Buy was able to restore a lot of what was there, but any programs that I had were completely gone and that has been the hardest part.  Re-installing, remember everything that I had on there, calling/emailing to get passwords and activation codes again.  Finally, finally, I think I am back up and running at a semi-normal pace.  Yes, and we learned everything the hard way.  Get an online back-up for your computer!!!!  This process would have been FAR less painful with that.

Anyways, so I am pretty far behind on editing (it's kinda hard without Photoshop).  But I was able to edit a couple of weddings and shoots and I wanted to get up a preview.  There is so much more to come.  This summer has been crazy busy and I have so many amazing images that I want to share.

First is Bryan and Lynn's wedding.  It was held at a Barn in Oxnard.  Soooo beautiful, plus they are such an amazing couple.  It was such a pleasure to be a part of their day.
I loved this shot from their wedding.  I edited how I normally do, but then I I decided to have a little fun with it.  I love the feeling of the picture.
Kent and Maika were married at the Newport Beach LDS Temple.  They are such a sweet couple.  Kent is from Logan, Utah, where my sister lives!  Carlos and I are going up there this next week and I am going to be able to do some bridals for Maika.  I can't wait!
A year ago I was able to do some family portraits for the Pratt Family,  when cute little William was only a baby.  I love when I can watch as little families grow, such a fun part of my job.  They will be welcoming a little baby girl into their family in November!  So exciting!
April teaches  the viola and violin and she called me to help her with some pictures for her new website.  I was so excited and a little nervous, I had never done anything like that before.  But I am SO excited with the results.  April is SO fun and if anyone is looking for a teacher, let me know and I will send you her way.

I don't do as many personal entries as I would like.  I don't know why.  I guess, partly, it's that I don't think people are that interested and also I just don't have time.  But I decided it was time and I have a pretty good reason.  In a few months we are going to be welcoming a little bundle of joy into our family, a little baby boy!  Really, I could not be more excited!  I can't wait to hold him and look into his little face and see what features are from me and which ones are from Carlos.

Yep, that's my baby :)  I can feel him moving around all the time now.  He loves the loud music at receptions and I swear sometimes he kicks to the beat of the music.  One time when I was waiting for a ceremony to start he kicked me so hard right where my camera was leaning up against my stomach that he moved it, it was so great!

In a couple of weeks we are going to be doing a maternity session and I will post those photos and their will definitely be lots of pictures once he is born, poor guy.

I will also be taking a "maternity leave", of sorts.  I am booked for weddings until pretty much right up until my due date, yeah, we didn't plan this very well.  But starting September 20th through November 15th, I will ONLY be shooting the weddings I have booked.  I won't be doing any middle of the week sessions, I am going to be putting my feet up and getting ready for my baby, and then after he's born, recovering, so I can be 100% for the weddings that I have and for delivery (yikes, scary).

Anyways, we are so excited and we wanted to share our joy.  I will keep you posted on all of the happenings. 

It is my sister and brother-in-laws 1st anniversary today!  Congratulations!  I love you guys and I hope you have so much fun in Midway!

I shot their wedding last year in Provo, Utah.  I was really cold, but we made the best of it and got some of my favorite pictures of all time.  Plus I gained an adorable niece and nephew.

I wish they lived closer.  I miss them like crazy!
